celebrated mama's day @ marche~~
we went ard taking photos all over e plc like nobody biz! lol! my dad was so super enthu dat he even went to take pics of e toilets!

bought ukimono bundled wif ukimono mini for my mum as pressie! cos she keeps grumbling dat she wanna get one for slimming! haaha... now e 4 women @ my hse r on a ukimono craze every nite.

do u noe how to get e most worth it deal when buying osim pdts? jun is here to teach:

first, u muz go to the osim booth inside best denki instead of e normal osim shop. use ur ocbc best denki credit card (of course assume u hav one) to get the priviledge of paying by installment 0% interest free (u can select 12/24 mth)! then collect rebates on both ur ocbc best denki cards (8% best rewards) & best denki gold points ($1=1 gold pts, 100 gold pts=$1 to offset against ur nx purchase)!

Oooo... i absolutely luv 0% interest free installment plans! cos u dun hav to fork out a large sum (sorry la, my scope is very low, threshold very easily exceed) of $$ for e purchase! so if u go by e discounted cashflow, ur purchase actually cost much less now! fyi, my computer, camera, etc. r all on 0% installments!

Ip man 2
一个字。。。赞!a muz watch, it's my movie of the year! (cut off as of now)
Iron man 2
sadly, it's below expectation, i actually fell asleep for a brief moment (a bit extreme i noe, maybe i was tired)... but kian oso tinks dat e show has been disappointing...
anyway, as my childhood wasnt abt comics nor any superheros cartoons, i've zero knowledge in this arena (i dun even noe dat iron man was from a comic), until yc was talking abt them after e movie n my interest was arose. i decided to do a bit of research n realised dat there r in actual 2 main publishers competing against each other in this superheros comics industry, owing 80% of the mkt share (sorry, e financial analysis was a 职业病). Marvel comics, a subsidiary of walt disney, is e creator of spiderman, iron man, x-men, the hulk & fantastic four. DC comics, on e other hand, is a subsidiary of warner bros, and creator of superman, batman & wonder woman. no wonder oni these 3 characters appear in e warner bros theme park i visited in australia, it didnt occur to me then dat e rest r under walt disney.
yc said dat e superheros will eventually fight each other (as shown from e appearance of the hammer of Thor - another superhero, in the post credits scene of iron man 2, and oso e appearance of iron man in the post credits scene of incredible hulk). k, so we r waiting for part 3 where they'll fight! lol~~

i'm a big fan of sophie kinsella, ever since I started on her shopaholic series recommended by my sister (way b4 e movie), I’ve read every book written by her. Twenties gal was her latest book published in 2009, ok I noe I’m half a yr late, but dat’s bcos e book was so exp when it first came out! So I kept waiting for some promotion b4 I finally bought it. Haaha… typical me!

This is another light-hearted & hilarious book which can make me laugh even on public trains, e usual kinsella’s style… I like her books cos it’s easy to read (e author dun use bombastic words) and they often make u look at life from another perspective. Jus like in e book where they described old folks as “All that white hair and wrinkled skin is just cladding.... They were all young, with love affairs and friends and parties and an endless life ahead of them”. Makes u tink abt e 老人 ard us, who r actually not some boring, stern & cranky老人but r jus as fun loving & rebellious like us!

current book i'm reading:

Bought e book at e HMV sales last yr (by e way, they r still selling books @ 2 for $20 now, super good deal!), but casted it aside after reading e first few chapters. Recently kk arose my interest in this book again, he was super crazy abt it & kept raving dat he wanna go Italy cos of e book. So I took it out of my bookshelf again n started on it a 2nd time. Surprisingly, e feeling was totally diff from e first time I tried reading last yr. ok, this shows dat first impression can be misleading…
I wanna go another country to embark on a new life journey too…

To celebrate our 5th yr anniversary, kian & I went for a 2D1N holiday getaway to Batam over e wkend. I guess everyone noe a little abt Batam, jus a brief intro, Batam is one of the 3,000 island which made up the Riau Archipelago, part of the Riau Islands Province of Indonesia (one of the 33 provinces in Indonesia). It is 45 min ferry ride from Harbourfront and according to my tour guide, Batam & Spore has the same founder - Sang Nila Utama. Our hotel is centrally located in e city, just right next to one of the biggest shopping mall in Batam - Nagoya Hill. It's such a good choice dat i'm so pleased at my wise selection!

e rooftop swimming pool & jacuzzi~~ we went swimming at nite under e stars!!

View of Nagoya Hill from my hotel~~
ihotel - slide to open door~~ (kian's version of iphone slogan) lol!
upon arrival @ batam sekupang international ferry terminal, we proceeded to our city tour that we've booked. There are 2 other main terminals in Batam namely Waterfront (where e sea resorts like Harris & Holiday Inn as well as the sea sports activities like cable ski are located) & Batam city ferry terminal (which is jus nx to Megamall or Matahari - e name i noe it by when i was a child).
First stop, we visited the iconic Kwan Im Statue, which is the biggest statue at Indonesia's Archipelogo and 23m high towering the skyline.
According to my tour guide, this Kwan Im Statue was built by the KTM brothers on their land which they thought they owned but the Indonesian government claimed that the land was the government's and hence ordered the statue to be demolised. During this period, it rained for 2 full weeks and it was believed that the Kwan Im Statue doesnt want to move.We had our lunch @ golden prawn restaurant, one of the famous seafood places in Batam.
e kelong style design~~
maybe bcos it was from e package tour, e food wasnt as good as i've expected (from e forum reviews i've read).
After lunch, we proceeded to watch the Kuda Lumping invloving a cultural dance & a magic show where the local artistes show their special abilities of eating glass and fire balls, as well as peeling coconut skin with their bare teeth.

Next, we went to the Indonesia-Batam Miniature Park which is a synopsis of Indonesian culture, with Indonesia's 33 provinces encapsulated in separate pavilions. These are jus a few of e more interesting miniatures we took pics wif.
golden city~~ e area where all these r located~~
dat's e go-kart circuit, which was oni opened last june, but e cars look pathetic as compared to e one we went in JB.

Following dat we went to visit the Thoa Pek Kong Chinese Temple, e famous temple which was moved from Kusu Island to Batam during the 1980s.

Our last stop is shopping @ Batam City Square where i bought super cheap stuffs!! of course, in btw we were oso brought to factory outlets selling branded stuffs like polo, levi, etc as well as local 土产. from my research of forums, websites & blogs, i alr noe dat e polo is a muz buy while 土产 is much cheaper if u buy from e supermkt instead of e shops. i oso read abt this very good body scrub Maudi Lulur selling twice as cheap in Indonesia & i ended buying half a dozen back! haaaha...
we ended e day wif a nice massage @ Eska, located in Nagoya Hill, one of e recommended massage places dat i found in e forum. we did aromatheraphy massage, it was so relaxing dat i drifted off to sleep at some point.
k, as everyone noes, i calculate my $$ frequently while overseas. so there's this episode where after a trip to e supermkt i realised i'm short of 100,000 rupiahs. i immediately suspected dat e cashier had taken more $$ from me. of course i totally had no confidence of retrieving my $$ from e cashier as there was no proof. but given my character, i definitely wont rest until i've got back my $$. so i went to ask e supermarket security guard to help me communicate with the cashier (who is a malay & doesnt speak english) abt my prob. at first e cashier insisted dat she has given me e correct change but as i persisted, e security guard went to extract e security camera footage for dat particular cashier counter and so i got my $$ back! yeah~~
