watched 3 movies in 3 consecutive days. haha... since i was away for so long, muz catch up a bit.

lotsa ppl has been recommending this show to me, saying it's good & funny. plot is similar to those james bond style, action comedy, think not bad overrall, thou kian feels dat it's not up to his expectation, saying dat e last movie he really enjoyed is e johnny depp barber one. *faints* dat's like ages ago! overrall rating: 3

another superhero typical movie, w/o any ending! dat's means there's gg to be a part 2... combined wif iron man?!?!? (haha... u've to watch e show to noe wat i'm talking abt) anyway, i wanna mentioned dat Edward Norton is e first ang mo actor dat i feel attracted to. ok, most prob nobody noe who on earth is Edward Norton, neither do i, besides e fact dat he's e male lead in this show. but among all e shuai shuai ang mo actors dat appeared in all e numerous movies, i dun really feel any attraction to any of them besides him. haha...

overrall rating: 3.5

another comedy, wif lotsa sexual humour, it's those no brainer laughing show. not really my cup of tea thou (i mean e sexual parts)... but it has adam sandler starring as lead, think dat's e main attraction of e show, thou i still prefer him in Click. oh ya, n i went wif a grp of mad ppl who told me dat sitting in e first row @ vivo cinema is ok! luckily it was still see-able, was telling maine durin e commercials part dat i've difficulty capturing e full screen cos my eyes dun hav wide lens! haha... so when i'm done wif looking at e right side, the scene disappeared b4 i can turn my head to look at e left.

overrall rating: 2.5

even as i watch e tv, i'll see advertisements in this area... haha~
visited the 祖庙 (Ancestral temple)...

Fo shan Ancestral Temple has a history of over 900yrs. It was first built during Yuanfeng Reign (1078-1085) of the Northern Song Dynasty. It is an artistic palace gathering ceramic, wood-carving, metal-casting, architecture arts of ancient Foshan. The Ancestral Temple is an important cultural relic site mainly protected by the state.

there's a saying if u throw a coin through e hole & it hits e bell in the middle, ur wish will come true.

went to huang feihong memorial hall~~ this is a statue of him~~

this museum was dedicated to huang fei hong, who was borned in fo shan & made great contributions to the wushu world. The building is divided into a show room, Huang Feihong Cinema, a hall and pati0 for practicing Wushu. there's even a replica of his clinic, bao zhi ling (寶芝林), & photos of it.
i noe e huang feihong in our minds looks like jet li/Kwan Tak-Hing/Zhao Wen Zhou, cos of all their tv series, but e real huang feihong looks like this...

ended our fieldwork at Xi an ofc ytd, 1 day earlier than planned, so today we decided to reward ourselves by gg into the city for some shopping!

our hotel was located in zone 2, abt 15 mins drive from e city (zone 1). took a cab there ourselves as we do not wan to bother e client. it was super cheap, oni S$3!

as Xi an was an ancient capital, there's a wall (城墙)tght wif a river, surrounding the city & they r preserved until today. to enter the city, there are 4 entrances, north, south, east & west. 文官下轿,武官下马 is e rule dat everyone has to follow when entering e palace durin ancient times.

me @ the bell tower (钟楼)~~ u can see e big bell right at the top of the tower.

this is the drum tower (鼓楼)~~ spot e difference? haha... there's a drum at the first level & its roof does not hav a bell! there's an old saying, 晨钟暮鼓 (bell in e day & drum at nite). this practise is still being carried out here today.

this is my lunch! pork chop in sizzling hot plate wif pasta, tght wif red wine, salad, bread & soup! whole set oni S$6.50! how i wish i can earn sgd & spend rmb! then i'll be rich! haha...

ok, nx stop fo shan, flying back to guangzhou tmr morning... bye Xi an~~ i've enjoyed my stay here throughly by learning & seeing so much of e china history. it's definitely a memorable experince.

Xi an, the eternal city, records the great changes of the Chinese nation just like a living history book. During Xi an's 3,100 years of development, 13 dynasties such as Western Zhou (11th century BC - 771 BC), Qin (221 BC - 206 BC), Western Han (206 BC - 24 AD) and Tang (618 - 907) placed their capitals here. So far, Xi an enjoys equal fame with Athens, Cairo, and Rome as one of the four major ancient civilization capitals.

中国悠久的历史与古老的文化,真的让人惊叹不已. 昨天去看了兵马俑,它的神奇简直叫我们无法想象!

Guess who I saw there?

It's MM lee kuan yew! He actually visited this place when he was still the prime minister then.

He even 提了一行字!this was written by him…

If u dun hav any idea of 兵马俑 & y am I making such a big hoo ha out of it, let me bring u through a little history of the 秦 dynasty. When 秦始皇 died, he wanna bring along with him everything in the world, in other words, he wan to rebuild his whole empire in the netherworld. Thus, he commenced his ppl to start making replicates of everything to be buried tght wif him when he died. altght, 600 pits were dug & his soldiers (兵马俑) reside in 4 of them.

tricia & me @ the 1st pit~~

This is the 1st pit discovered & it’s oso the biggest among the 4. Each 兵马俑 is delicately crafted from palm prints to hair strands. Even the floors are pathed wif gapless tiles. Wif e technology durin dat era, it’s basically impossible to accomplish. All of them has unique faces and not one is similar to the other. How did the 木匠 actually come up wif so many diff faces? We believed dat they used each other’s face as models & modified from there. When the兵马俑 are discovered, most of them are actually damaged & these 兵马俑 dat we see hav alr been 修补 based on the analysis & matching of the fallen pieces. I’m sure many of us might be wondering y are some of them left w/o any heads. There’s a perfectly logical reason behind it. This is bcos their faces are alr damaged beyond repair & our craftsmen r preserving the original statue by not inventing an imaginary one.

In order to protect the兵马俑, visitors are oni allowed in the gallery & not underground. Oni countries representatives like the presidents or prime ministers hav special privileges to access the underground. One interesting fact is japen’s prime minister actually visited this place, however he did not receive the special access even thou he has the status as he did not earn the respect (ps. japan still refused to apologise to china).

this is the 2nd pit~~

All e 兵马俑 are actually coloured even thou wat we saw are oni the colourless clay. This is bcos when e 兵马俑 are exposed to air & sunlight, the colours on them will fade immediately. Thus we can see dat the 2nd pit thou dug, the兵马俑 are still not exposed yet. Archeologists are alr working wif experts in germany (it’s leading the world in their research work on colours) to ensure that they’ll be able to preserve the colours on the 兵马俑 b4 they’ll proceed to exhibit more statues. Estimated time frame is 5 to 8 yrs.

In 3rd pit resides all the 将军 & 元帅. As compared to the 1st pit where all the frontline soldiers are standing in str lines in rows ready for battle, the将军 stand facing each other.
