today was my darling cousin's big day~~ i had to wake up at 5am in the morning to prepare myself as i got to reach my cousin's place by 645am! my cousin is a teochew & thus the customary wedding is held early in the morning. given dat i oni slept at 2am, dat means 3 hrs of sleep for me... boohoo~~ but the lack of sleep doesnt lessen the excitement in me as i'm gg to be the pretty bridesmaid! haha... it's indeed an eventful day as well as an eye-opener for me. not forgetting all the big fat ang baos i got! ('earned' ard $200 from all the ang paos! is there a job as a bridesmaid? i dun mind it as a temp job! haha...) anyway my cousin's hubby is a generous man indeed, gave a pin jin of $8888... being one of the jie mei at the door to 'te gan' the groom, i put my programmer skills to gd use & manage to get an open-door ang pao of $388! haha... but the process make me think of our nbc foc & how kian & his xiong dis will be 'te gan' in the future(maybe 18 tong ren?)

after the groom came in to fetch the bride, we had to proceed on to the groom's place for the tea ceremony. there's altogether 7 cars, wif the jie meis taking the xiong dis' cars. as i've to carry the gown train for my cousin, i had to arrive b4 their car & thus i took the allocated 'faster car' which resulted in me being carsick!(luckily jus giddy lah, nv vomit) bleah!

after dat we went out for photo shoots(weather really good today!) b4 coming back to the grooms' house for my cousin to change into her kwa(traditional red gown) for the 2nd half of the day. then we headed back to her house for the tea ceremony as well as photo taking.

kian think dat this movie is more comprehensive than the comic, i think it's a very intricating story & really salute the author for the exciting & clever plot! all the brilliant & smart moves by the 2 leads r really beyond our "normal brain" processing ability! haha... it'll make u go wow! a good show dat's worth watching for $9.50! *highly recommended*

i fired my company today, they super niao one, pissed me off, anyway i've been wanting to quit coz i am ALLERGIC to OFFICE WORK! really, right from the first day i started work i'm sick until now... plus my opportunity cost (of enjoying the last holiday of my student life, gg out wif frens, spending time wif kian, etc...) is oso much higher than wat i'm paid... decided dat tuition is still the best job in the world~~ lalalaallla... haha... shiok! i'm free again~~ no more waking up early & squeezing the train wif all the office workers during peak hrs!

i noe it's wrong to tell them on the spot dat i dun wanna work anymore wif no notice given, yz say in this society, muz always ren qi tun sheng, not everything can do as u please... BUT i dun care! lalllalala... i'm the strightfwd kind & i dun care if i offend them & most impt is i feel i've done the right thing.

but seriously, i really dislike the office world... the environment is really jus not right. wif all the watever shit & crap, u'll not be happy at all... everybody jus noe how to protect their own interest, become fake & cold creatures... sigh...

went to the EY cocktail party wif maine... they took us on a tour round the new office, it's cool~~ there's even bathroom for u to bath, plus ktv lounge, pool table, etc... the most surprising thing is dat the manager who interviewed me actually still remembers me! i dun even rem him liao lor~~ haha... he actually take the initiative to approach me to make a conversation & reminded me he's the one who interviewed me when he saw my blank face. EY has sincere ppl who bother to rem u... dat's nice... add points!

back from my penang trip, not bad... quite fun actually, coz went sightseeing & saw lotsa stuffs like durian mountain, tropical fruits plantation, fishing village, etc... ate lotsa weird weird food oso, haha... like "ice" kachang (no ice one, replaced by fruits), penang laksa(my whole family think it tasted terrible, dunno y it's so famous), strange looking sea creatures (like shells dat kind but more "shellish"), etc...

the hotel i stayed in is not bad, got a revolving restaruant at the top, so u can see the whole penang island while eating. but given my prone-ness to seasick, landsick & airsick, this one is no exception, i feel giddy even though nobody feel any movement at all! haha... in the end oso nv eat much, coz otherwise will sure vomit! kian say like dat cannot go cable car dinner... boo~~

bought quite a lot of shoes & heels there, coz all the boutiques like sale until super cheap, but the clothes sucks, not my type, my sisters like though... haha...

anyway i took this superior grade bus, 18 seaters oni, so by the fact dat my family took up 11 of the seats, we almost had the whole bus to ourselves! haha... u can lie down almost flat comfortably, plus each person has an individual tv to urself (like take airplane) wif 20 titles each for eng & chi movies, oso got other languages one, got cartoons, & music if u dun wanna watch movie. cool~~ but i wasted the service though, coz i'll feel giddy & "bus-sick"...

met up wif my jie mei gang for my cousin's wedding to plan wat to do. today is the 1st day we r officially introduced to each other, my cousin's frens r really very very diff individuals... i think if it's not thru my cousin, they wont hav noe each other lor, coz their characters r like north pole & south pole, super extremely opposite one! haha... & they r all working adults ranging from 26 to 34 (got married one, oso got divorced one, oso of course got still single one), so i'm like the baby of the grp. but we still can click quite well lah, very interesting to hear them talk abt their lives & stuffs. & we r gg clubbing on my cousin's last maiden nite! haha...

got a temp job at keppel tower (the same building as EY tax dept) in a shipping co as an accounts asistance. it was quite tyco how i found the job, i was jus surfing the net when i saw the ad on jobstreet & i jus anyhow email. before i noe it i'm alr confirmed w/o even seeing my person & interviewing me! haha... the grestest thing is i told them i'm gg on a holiday from 14th-18th dec & they actually agree to let me go on leave! haha... since when did u come across a co who give their temp staffs leaves?! but it's to my benefit, so of course i'm happy abt it! the co is quite big, occupy half of the whole level, & i can see the sea from my office! very interesting to see ships coming in & gg out loading, discharging, bunkering... the ppl r very friendly too... always got things to eat one, chocolates, cakes, biscuits... at this rate i'll grow fat! boo~

anyway the sad thing abt this is kian still havnt got a job, & he's really sian abt it wif me working & nobody to pei him. so whoever is free can go jio him out! haha... or anyone got job lobang?

went to cheryl's 21st bdae party at aloha loyang... i knock off at 830 actually & pia there on cab! haha... it was the same place as my bdae, jus diff type of bungalow, her's was 2 storey one. cheryl's was very nice to wait for me to cut cake, i'm VIP k! hahaha... end up watching star awards there...the food is extremely nice, think it's cater by her uncle's shop. the cake is very unique too, got crust inside one, kian said he got eat b4, but i really dun rem anything similar... think it's bought at taka basement. xue er is a rich gal wor~~

this dec really quite busy, everyday packed wif activities! haha... i got a lobang as santaria from fri-sun at a roadshow. pay very high lor, 10 per hr! wuhaha.... somemore job quite slack, jus go ard act pretty, give out flyers & balloons. i like to take up interesting jobs, the costumes r very nice & pretty, kian said i look very cute in it. will post up the photos when i've uploaded them. met lotsa interesting ppl too~~ got 1 ang mo wanna take a pic of me, then oso got ppl tot i'm santaria asking for donations & actually put $$ into my basket! haha... then whenever i give out balloons all the kids will come running to me, so cute!

this is the 1st time i took up a job dat requires u to stand for the whole day, so quite (ok, it's VERY) tiring for my poor feet... bottomline: i cant take hardship... bleah!

watched the screening of "the holiday" at sentosa beach together wif jie & eugene. the movie oni hits the cinemas on 14 dec, but sentosa got this event of showing the preview at palawan beach, so we bought the tix & went to watch! haha... got free popcorn somemore, coz jie is an islander member, so can exchange for free one. shiok! movie not bad lah, enjoyed watching a movie by the beach... quite cool (but can be quite cold coz of the sea breeze)! lotsa ppl went, even more than a cinema full, got 1 ang mo couple dig a very tall sandcastle & use it as a backing to lay on it, smart! got a ride out of sentosa coz eugene drove... thks jie & eugene! haha...

went to the bridal shop to do my fittings, the gown fit me perfectly! yeah~~ i think it's quite beautiful, but kian said dat i look like a child... muz put make-up & do my hair professionally dat day then i'll look pretty! haha... ok dun be mistaken, i'm not the bride, i'm jus the bridesmaid for my cousin's wedding. was looking at all the tedious process of a wedding, my cousin has been really stressed up over it, not simple at all. from simple simple things like choosing the flowers to tie on the car, choosing the photos dat u wanna compile into an album, choosing the skin of the photo album, choosing ur gown, blah blah blah... to the big big things like preparing the guest list & hotel, selecting the auspicious hr, getting the jie mei gang, giving out wedding cakes & invitations... *stress!*

anyway i'm quite excited to be the bridesmaid, coz i get to wear the gown from the bridal shop & make up prettily! haha... & i can put my programmer skills to good use coz hav to think how to te gan the groom b4 he's allowed to enter the house to fetch the bride. wuhaaha... muz ask for $888 ang pao! the stress part abt this wedding is i'm to be the MC at the dinner, so my practise my lines properly... or else will throw face in front of so many ppl! *stress!*

I think i'm allergy to thai food, coz after eating the siam kitchen, i got swollen lips! boohhoo~~ but i still cant figure out wat ingredients i'm allergy to... tom yum? lemongrass?

I really dun think i wanna join a big4 firm & waste my youth there... e women there all look much older than their actual age. ok, it's not oni abt something so superficial, but being an auditor has nv been my interest oso. y i wanna study accountancy is oni due to the fact dat it's the shortest route to getting a uni degree ( therefore cheaper, coz i dun hav much $$ haha...) dat's y i said the gov shd really come up wif a system where one can switch job often without being penalised, so dat u can try lotsa things in ur life n not be stuck wif 1 job for ur whole life( i mean u oni live once right! y the restriction?!) so now my plan is jus go to any big4 firm as a stepping platform, then i'll switch my career...

Went to watch project superstar recording. M2 jeremy kwan is kian's fren, so whole grp of us went to support him. (muz vote for him k!) it's not the first time i've been to mediacrop, so nothing is new to me, coz i used to work at the radio station, UFM 1003. haha... i even directed them the way there!
this is the stage, the whole area is actually quite small, lotsa ppl always got bluff by all the camera tricks and think dat the recording studio is very big.
we r seated at the centre front, quite good seats, even manage to get the tix to the star awards this sunday as the crew gave them out to the front sitting ppl... but dun think i'm gg, coz got cheryl's bdae party this sunday, plus i dun hav much interest...
paiseh abt the blur-ness, but the lightings r too strong at the stage, so it's not dat i dun hav skills k!
dat's M1 le sheng (e one dat look like le wei song), he's a really talented person, composed quite a number of songs for mediacorp before. he got the highest score in the history of superstar, 41 marks, incredible! but he's really good...

this is before the recording starts... there's an overall in charge (person at the extreme left holding the mic) who will do all the arranging, tell the audience wat to do, make us clap n shout for the camera, bah blah blah...

Liverpool is leading 0-4 away. I am not smiling. pwc never called me, i dun care. In 3 hrs time, i need to wake up for my race. I am excited... nervous. With insufficient training, I am running a marathon in few hours time. Whats more, i just ate steamboat. Heck, let me just sleep.

3:50am

Woken up by "I should have known her better". k. All hyped up for the race. Washed up and off i went. (i was already in my running attire!) Met up with john and then went 7-11 to buy gaderate (watever the spelling) to hydrate ourselves. Soon, we were at bedok stadium taking the bus to padang.

5am

Warm-up. Kept Stretching and hydrating, and peeing. also did some mental prep. Weather was good!

6am

Race started! but i was not at the starting line. Was depositing my bag. tmd

6.15am

squeezed pass all the half marathoners, past the starting line, and the race started! (started last)

10m

super bad start. right knee started to nag just... 10m down the stretch. Saw an old man running infront of us (rongyang and i). His adidas tag said:"I'm 82 years old and i am still running". wa chi.....

15km

came out from marina bay area and was running past shenton way. saw many ntu friends like beng chuan etc~ physical and mental conditions were fine, though need to endure the pain from the knee. nevertheless the pretty runspirators kept me going.

17km

The water point distributed out bananas for the runners. Damn shiok! however can be quite damaging cause need to walk and eat. My knee just kept nagging. was able to shake it off, but once i start walking, it pain will come back.

21km

Before this race, the longest distance i have run was 21km. So every stride was gonna be a new record. Entering East coast park then. The thought of running one round within the long and winding road of the whole ECP can be quite demoralizing.

27km

The ECP stretch can be quite interesting. lotsa supporters and of course the usual sporty babes blading their sunday away.

30km

My legs starting to feel real tired. Was having crams on both my thigh. All the power gels and 100 plus dun work anymore. Luckily I was not running alone. Rongyang and I just kept pushing each other.

32km

2 more km! rongyang and i had splited. I'm too slow for him. Really dragging my feet. kept being overtaken. wanted to push myself, but i really got no energy. gave up finishing with a good timing. just wanna complete the race.

streams of half marathon participants were seen walking home. Guess i really near the finishing line. i ran past marina park and under the fullerton bridge. oh! john told me there will be photo taking! luckily i still got energy to wet my hair to ensure a real atletico look. keke

42.1km

the moment i have been waiting for. The crowd cheered! though not for me, probably for the ppl around me~ I sprinted with all my mights, with style for the camera man. GOAL!!!!! 5hr, 55 mins~ hahaha. The last stretch was quite memorable.



too bad, dear was not around. I dunno what she was doing. managed to met up with her in the end.

Holiday Day 3
Went to the professional imaging centre to attend a cosmetic makeup course, it's a yr2 core module actually, but they still hav extra spaces, so they open up to yr3. think i learn quite a lot from it. now then i noe ppl wif single eye lids muz use matt eye shadows instead of frosty ones. but regarding my short eyelashes, sigh.... use fake ones is the best option! boo~~

After dat went to watch A battle of the Wits. It's a good show, worth the watch.

Holiday Day 2
EY interview today, luckily they nv ask y my results so bad, haha... it was really short, chop chop 15 min settle, n I got in le! (hey, not everyone who went for interview got in k, so they still got choose one) think i shd be gg to EY, sh say it's a good choice coz they've lotsa IPOs gg to china n stuffs n since i minor in chinese, it'll be really gd prospect for me to go overseas n stuffs. moreover their dept dat specialises in auditing banks oni need 2 rounds of interview n will take in fresh grad, unlike pwc where u need a few yrs of experiences. PWC is oni abt welfare gd, but they've a slow learning curve n u dun get ur own portfolio, DT is very small, n KP is slave driving, so EY will be the best! haha... u get to go overseas for training n u'll get ur 1st mth pay while doing nothing!

Watched Happy Feet, we r back to our movie days!

After dat went ee how's house for BBQ... Shiok! the squids, chicken wings r good... they even tried bbq nuggets, onion rings n taiwan xiang chang, weird combi, but turn out not bad.
