Subas's wedding @ JB
subas is one of my indian ex-colleague (ya, he travelled to china n speaks chinese) who is a malaysian n hence his wedding was held in JB. this is my first time attending an Indian's wedding and it's really an eye-opener.
pic of a peacock drew using coloured sand (i tink) at the entrance of the hall~~

wedding hall was set up wif bright decorative lights and little pavilions along the stretch from e entrance to the stage~~

women holding lighted flowery candles getting ready to walk in~~

the aisle lined wif red carpet and the little pavilions~~

e stage at e front of the hall, where e groom n bride will perform their ceremony~~ tink a very impt part is the lighting of the sacred fire, where they've to offer lotsa stuffs like crushed sandalwood, herbs, sugar rice, etc to the ceremonial fire.

it's a tradition for the groom n bride to seat on the stage while we went up to offer our blessings~~

grp pics wif all my ex & current colleagues~~

bangkok trip mar 2010Day 1
came from work directly as our flight is in e evening. thou i've taken budget airlines numerous times, this is e first time i'm flying from e budget terminal.

we were starving when we touched down at bkk airport as it's almost 10pm (spore time) n we haven had our dinner! as it was late wif not much traffic, our cab driver was really smart to go by e main roads instead of e highway (where u've to pay toll n e dist is longer), so our cab fare was oni 2/3 of the normal price. yeah!
checked in at Citin pratunam, a nice little hotel situated right in e heart of pratunam. there's free internet, free gym & sauna, as well as free tuk-tuk services to nearby malls. n it oni cost S$30 pppn~~

went out for dinner at e rdside stalls n had a nice & cheap meal of tom yum soup, bbq fish n mixed vegetables.
Day 2Our hotel taken from e outside~~

@ e overhead bridge to platinum mall, dat's e huge mall behind us~~

shopped @ pratunam area for e day, wif a thai massage at e end to pamper ourselves~~
dinner was @ somboon seafood, surawong, a famous seafood restaurant wif 40 yrs of history which was even visited by the japan's prime minister (they had photos of him on e walls). but our conclusion is that e food sucks n kian is totally disgusted by e poor standards. ha!

watched alice in wonderland 3D @ centralworld after conquering the 2 stretches of nite mkt outside it! haaha... but i was so tired from all e activities dat i fell asleep durin e movie :(
Day 3maine n i wore our cute little strawberry tank top dat we've bought e previous day~~ oni S$2 cheap cheap~~
oh, bringing an empty luggage is my strategy here, i'll oni bring 2 sets of clothes for e 1st & 2nd day (when i've not done any shopping) n subsequently wear watever i've bought!

buying our nice thai tea (=our milk tea in spore) for breakfast~~

conquering e chibaboom chatuchak wkend mkt!!! yup, we got khai to wear e stawberry top too!!! lol~~

after a day's shopping, we went up to the baiyoke sky revolving tower to chill out n enjoy e bkk nite scenary~~ located on e 84th floor of the tower, it's e highest in bkk wif a 360 degrees rotating platform~~

during the cny, met up wif family & frenz for gatherings~~
1) jap dinner & ktv @ ksuites wif felicia, kk & ds
first time singing at ksuites, a super atas place, room charge is $30/hr excluding food & drinks, tink it's e most exp ktv i've ever been to!

e money all goes into e extra facilities like computer for u to surf net, facebook, msn, games...

lcd showing soccer matches to entertain e guys when e gals r singing...

touch-screen monitor to select songs, record ur songs (which u can bluetooth to ur hp after e recording) n mics like games, etc... oh, they use wireless mics too...

dinner was at this jap restaurant on top of illuma~~ e most special part of this place is their ordering system, where an electronic pen will be given to u n u jus hav to select ur food from e menu by touching e pics wif e pen.

overrall i tink e food is not bad, portion is quite big, but a bit pricy~~ our takaway orders actually got lost, staffs r oso not very attentive, so svc wise i'll mark it down...
2) family lunch gathering @ famous crab king seafood
the cousins~~

grp photo of all e families present~~ of course this is oni a portion of e whole family tree, as my grandparents had 13 children n there's 5 generations in my family tree~~

3) bv gathering @ manhatten fish

4) gavi gathering (missing lotsa ppl of course, but nvm we can org again another time!) @ citylink taiwan xing wang
it's nice catching up wif everyone again after so long~~
