THINK you've seen it all when it comes to cosmetic surgery?Look more closely. Eyelash transplant surgery is set to become the new must-have procedure for women - and the occasional man.
Using procedures pioneered by the hair-loss industry for balding men, US surgeons are using 'plug and sew' techniques to give women long, sweeping lashes once achieved only by glued-on extensions and thick lashings of mascara.
'Eyelash transplantation does for the eyes what breast augmentation does for the figure,' said Florida-based Dr Alan Bauman, a leading proponent of eyelash transplants.
'This is a brand new procedure and it is going to explode,' Dr Bauman added, during what was billed as the world's first live eyelash surgery workshop for 40 surgeons from around the world in California.
Under the procedure, a small cut is made at the back of the scalp to remove 30 or 40 hair follicles which are sewn one by one onto the patient's eyelids.
Only light sedation and local anaesthetics are used and the cost is around US$3,000 ($4,725) an eye.
amazing right? ok, i'm not saying i wan an eyelash transplant... i'm jus stunned!!! ok i admit i hav the shortest & most little eyelashes, but no, i'm not doing this kinda thing! bleah!

just an update on what are on my mind now.
Liverpool FCNot sure if i'm gonna bored u to death, but ppl who know me well will understand of this football club miles away is affecting my life. I have been a fan for 10 years and never have i feel like this. Liverpool slumped into a 2-0 defeat yesterday at manure. Though i expect them to loss, but definitely not this way. There was no character at all in the team. I am totally disgusted, really affected and i can't get over it. Over the past few matches, they totally have no team work, determination, ideas, flare and the list goes on. FUCK UP PLAY! i really dun understand how can this happen. I dun recognize the team at all. they dun look like one of the most successful club in europe. THEY ARE A JOKE. 16 years without the league title, 11th place in the table, negative goal difference. YOU ARE A JOKE. a bad one. I asked myself why am i supporting them? they dun play attractive football. they are not the champion and they dun have character. Look at chelsea! despite all the criticism, they stay together as one solid team. they are really united. mourinho is the special one! maybe i should change camp and support them and no live in illusion. Its one of the worst moment of liverpool one. dark clouds ahead. this is soccer. I pity myself and all the fans, for getting such returns from the team. this is the kind of effort the team should. no standard. fuck! the ball is round. pls show us the reason to love u once more. You'll Never Walk Alone.
Marathon6 Dec 2006. Standard chartered marathon. 42 km. Can i make it? I have not been training. I have like 1.5 months left plus exam to cope. this is really worrying. some might think whats the big deal. its just a run, cannot then just withdraw. No this is not so simple. It shows my lack of discipline and mental strength, which i have not been convincing myself that i indeed have those qualities. This run to me is like a test of my mental power. thats why i'm so worried. haha cool man, maybe i'm taking it too seriously but i just wanna do it. Worst, i suspect having a knee injury. My right knee sore from my weekly soccer game. really getting old. i just hope my knee won't just give way when i train or during the race. TOMOLO I SHALL RESUME TRAINING.
Childhood DreamI just signed up for the SIA cadet pilot talk. Alicia encouraged me to do it. Though i think there's no point persuding this dream again, I just wanna do something that my soul want. once in a whlie do it for me and not for others. even i know its CMI one. I dunno. lets try.

The Prestige
Cast: Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale (batman lead actor & xmen lead actor)
Entertainment: 4.5 (got lotsa magic tricks)
Plot: 4.5 (lotsa unexpected twist & turns, quite intriguing)
Overrall: 4
Set against the backdrop of London, this movie is abt a mysterious story of two magicians whose intense rivalry leads them on a life-long battle for supremacy full of obsession, deceit and jealousy with dangerous and deadly consequences. From the time that they first met as young magicians on the rise, Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) were competitors. However, their friendly competition evolves into a bitter rivalry making them fierce enemies-for-life and consequently jeopardizing the lives of everyone around them.
Lotsa twists & turns in this movie, so it’s quite confusing actually, but everything will unveil at the end. Ending quite unexpected, fascinating thou, to see all the magic tricks as well as the secrets behind all the mysterious tricks. I’m captivated by the story along the way, u’ll keep guessing like wat’s real wat’s fake, how come it’s like dat, some parts quite exciting as u really dunno wat will happen making u feel intense. But the plot is really confusing coz the sequences will jump ard, then u wont noe whether is this b4 or after, so marks r minus for dat. So b4 u watch the show I think it’s best if u can jus rem these 2 names, coz I had a hard time figuring out who’s who as I’m poor at recog faces. Haha… but overrall it’s worth a watch lah! Something diff from the norm…
Death Note
Cast: nobody we noe, but the lead actor is quite shuai
Entertainment: 3
Plot: 3.5
Overrall: 3.5 (gg by asian movies std, since it’s a jap film)
This all started when Ryak, the God of Death, dropped a notebook in the human world where a Light Yagami, an extremely bright elite university student picked it up. “The human whose name is written in this note shall die”, it said. This was the notebook of death that determined people’s death… & Light decides to use it to create an ideal world, holding the scales to judge the criminals in his discretion. Meanwhile, ICPO (International Criminal Police Organization) has placed a mysterious detective called “L” in the Japanese police force to investigate the series of criminal dying suddenly. “L”, having solved many unresolved cases in the world, begins to tighten the investigative screws over these cases. But Light cleverly manipulates the notebook of death to toss and shake off the investigation.
If u’ve read the comic, then u’ll be disappointed by the way the actors actually acted in portraying the characters quite differently as well as how the plot is changed. Kian read the comic, & feels dat the movie is not as good as the comic coz the evil is not so evil & the righteous is oso not so righteous. Then the ppl who died all acted quite fakely. Maybe heart attack is diff to act ba… haha…
For me, I din read the comic, so it’s like a totally new show without knowing the plot at all. I find the show quite ok, ther’s oso lotsa twists & turns, & u’ll be surprised at how intelligent Light is. He’s so good dat everytime he pulled something off I’ll go “wow!” i think it's quite a nice jap show. There’s 2 parts to this show, part 2 is coming out in nov I think. So jus stay after the credits to catch the preview of part 2. thou cathay din show it when we watched it, lotsa ppl stayed behind too, but everyone got ‘cheated’, dunno y they nv show oso. Sianz…

i hav great proj team mates for 205 this sem, really feel very appreciative of them. how lucky i am! haha... i always luv meeting great team mates, coz the working relaionship is jus diff, makes u happier in doing the proj. jus feel sad dat we r gg to part after this sem, treasured the frenships built... while typing the conclusion for my iCEE report, i got so emotional dat i suddenly email my grp mates wif this:
" anyway, while typing the conclusion, i suddenly quite emotional, tot dat wow, 205 is finally coming to an end! haha... i noe how much everyone has 'suffered' under 205 & this iCEE thingy thru the sem, but jus wanna tell u guys how much i enjoyed working wif u all. ok, i noe i'm the slack one, bleah! but really, i think u all r great & fun team mates to be wif. though we dun really noe each other well, but we can jus talk cock, crap & laugh during lessons. haha... i dunno how u all feel lah, maybe it's jus one-sided on my part, but i still wanna tell u all a big THANKkkkkkk YOUuuuuuuuu to eveyone for making my semester! hope we get a gd grade for our proj & all the best for the coming exams! jia you! ok, i think i crap toooooo much le, maybe too stress dat's y! haha... bleah!"

The Departed
Entertainment: 3
Casts: 4 (got shuai ge!)
Plot: 2 (marks deducted for the fact dat it’s exactly the same as internal affairs)
Overrall: 3.5
Though it had received 5 stars from dunno which paper, not as great as wat the critics make it out to be. For those who din watch internal affairs (I doubt anyone falls under this category), it might be a good show wif an exciting plot n stuffs, but for the rest of the majority, the exact imitation of internal affairs somewat makes the show lost it’s magic. Come on, u alr noe wat’s gg to happen at the nx scene… so the anticipation is jus not there anymore. Or rather, we can say dat the show is not a successful remake, coz certain shows are still able to capture the audience even though they r remakes.
Credits hav to be given to the casts, I think they’ve acted well, portraying the different conflicting & confusing inner emotions. But maybe bcoz we r Asians, the hongkong version of ‘hei she hui’ is still better (in terms of fighting scenes as well as interaction btw the members) than the US trials. ‘hei she hui’ fight with their skills & sometimes maybe weapons like rods or knives, but their ang mo counterparts jus use guns & shoot at each other, which is less umm… climatic coz everything happen in like a few sec oni? Think it oso has to do wif the language dat the lines r spoken, even though they meant the same thing, but u’ll jus feel diff when u hear something in English vs Chinese.
Something worth watching abt this show may be the ending, if u dun like the ending of internal affairs, maybe this is the show for u. haha…
You, Me & Dupee
Entertainment: 4 (it’s quite funny)
Casts: 4 (even the father is charismatic! Haha…)
Plot: 3
Overrall: 3.5
Quite a gd comedy, if u wanna relax & hav a gd laugh, can try this show. It’s not senseless cackles, u dun jus laugh throughout the show, but incorporates love, family as well as frenship. Kian say dat we’ve to use a diff scale to rate comedies, coz they r on a diff level as compared to the normal movies, n this is actually quite a successful English comedy.

World Trade Centre
Cast: nothing much, I dun hav much interest in nicholas cage
Entertainment: 1 maybe
Effects: they dun even show the planes hitting the WTC!
Plot: 0 (crap story)
Overrall: 1 (not recommended at all)
If u’ve anticipated this show to be a successful reenactment of 911, u’ll be terribly disappointed with it. Both me & kian feel dat even the documentary & news reports of the 911 r much better then this crap show. Basically u r jus watching any friction, story of 2 men trapped in a building & getting rescued! Yes, dat wat the whole 2hr & 20min show is abt! Terrible, horrible, incorrigible in fact! After watching the movie, makes us feel dat this could jus be the collapsed of any normal building maybe due to weak foundation, definitely not 911, not WTC, not the act of terrorism which put the whole world into distress, threw the US into chaos & leaving an unforgettable mark in history.
Kian said they r jus selling the brand of WTC, it’s jus a marketing gimmick, coz 911 is not jus abt saving 2 men please! There’s a recent documentary last mth on scv during sept 11 which depict a better reflection by showing how the ppl inside the building reacted to the disaster. Kian said he watched 5 min then he couldn’t bear to watch coz it’s too terribly sad… seeing how a man who noe the building inside out keep gg up the floors to rescue the ppl trapped, sacrificing his life but saving many others. How a grp of ppl trapped inside a lift, found themselves facing a wall after prying the door opened, but they nv gave up & keep digging through the wall. How ppl at the 110th floor gave up & jus jumped down the building making the sky looked as if it’s raining ppl! (in the movie, they oni showed 1 ppl jumped! Diaoz…) the 2 actors trapped inside the building jus lied there & talk cock, I feel they’ve not acted out the emotions they went thru in reality, how agony it is to jus keep waiting, not noeing if u’ll be saved, how painful it is not to noe if u’ll still be able to see ur loved ones…
911 left everyone ard the world wif a heavy heart, claiming the lives of 2439 ppl inside WTC. Even until today, the grounds of WTC is still flat & it might nv raise again. The movie doesn’t depict all these at all & anyone who watch this movie definitely wont be able to feel the impact & the consequences of this major disaster.

finally done wif the killer 306 & 205 tests this wk! kian said it's a hell week... but we've survived! haha... almost wanted to 'manage my risk' & take MC to skip the 205 quiz, since nobody can momerised the coso, simons, blahblahblah... so y go n 'use an egg to hit the rock' & get an 'F'! but luckily i nv, coz the quiz is still quite ok, lotsa repeated ques from previous sem.
haha... our little proj discussion is so funny!
