Barcelona, Spain
An interesting fact abt this city is dat although it's in spain, the main language spoken here is Catalan as it's actually the capital of Catalonia, one of the constituent autonomous communities of Spain. this means dat it's a self-governed nation & has legal status within spain.
This place is the highlight of the trip coz this is where we took our killer S$240 cab (i bet nobody has ever taken a cab in any other places dat's more ex than this!) & andrew lost his passport causing him to miss the flight back to spore! this is oso the oni european country dat made us sweat a lot as the weather is really hot & humid!!! i hav to apply tons of sunblock everyday or else i'll be burnt!

La Sagrada Família, one of the most popular attractions in spain. it's a masterpiece of the famous architect Antoni Gaudi, who worked on the project for 40yrs b4 his death in 1926 afterwhich various architects took over but was unable to complete building it due to interruptions like war. thus, Sagrada Família is oso known as the unfinished work of Gaudi & it's projected to be complete in 2026, the 100th anniversary of Gaudi's death.
Every part of the design of La Sagrada Família is rich with Christian symbolism, as Gaudí intended the church to be the "last great sanctuary of Christendom". Its most striking aspect is its spindle-shaped towers. A total of 18 tall towers are called for, representing in ascending order of height the twelve Apostles, the four Evangelists, the Virgin Mary and, tallest of all, Jesus Christ.

Casa Batlló, another work of Gaudi. it's oso known as House of Bones due to e visceral, skeletal organic quality as Gaudi's idea was to avoid straight lines completely & thus the building was modelled to the curves of the human body.

random pics~~

Cathedral of Santa Eulàlia. this was the barcelona cathedral dat appeared in liu xing hua yuan 2. but it was under renovation when we went! boohoo~~ :(
the original cathedral looked like this~~

Nou Camp, home ground of FC Barcelona, a 5-star stadium wif a seating capacity of 98,787, one of the biggest in europe. it was a match day when we went, so we actually get to see more things. the stadium is sooooo big dat we walk & walk & keep thinking dat we've finished everything but actually there's still lots more to see!

La Rambla, 1.2km tree-lined pedestrian mall in the Barri Gòtic, is a really interesting & happening street. there's shops selling all kinds of animals, from the common hamsters & rabbits to the weird weird iguana~~ there's oso lotsa street performers~~ xy being an animal lover keep wanting to buy a rabbit but was stopped by cher coz obviously we cant bring a rabbit into spore! haha...
